These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Camera Hound website and your purchase of the Camera Hound software. By using this website or purchasing the Software, you agree to these Terms.

1. Products and Pricing

Camera Hound is a self-hosted software application sold as a one-time purchase. The current price is listed on the pricing section of our website. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time; price changes do not affect existing purchases.

Nest camera users must separately pay a one-time $5 Google Device Access registration fee directly to Google. This fee is not charged by, included in, or refundable through Camera Hound.

2. Purchase and Delivery

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Upon successful payment, you will receive:

  • A license key for the Software.
  • Download access and setup instructions (Docker image, docker-compose configuration, and installation guide).

Delivery is digital and immediate. You are responsible for installing and configuring the Software on your own hardware.

3. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If Camera Hound does not meet your expectations, contact us at camhoundsup@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

After 14 days, all sales are final. Refunds are not available for:

  • Issues caused by third-party services (Ring API outages, Google API changes, etc.).
  • Failure to meet hardware or software prerequisites (Docker, compatible cameras, etc.).
  • The $5 Google Device Access fee (paid to Google, not to us).

4. License

Your use of the Software is governed by the End-User License Agreement (EULA). By purchasing, you agree to the terms of the EULA.

5. System Requirements

Camera Hound requires:

  • A server, NAS (e.g., Synology), or computer capable of running Docker containers.
  • Minimum 2 GB RAM and 2 CPU cores (4 GB RAM and 4 cores recommended for multiple cameras with face recognition).
  • At least 2 GB of free disk space for the application, plus additional space for snapshots and detection data.
  • Compatible cameras: Ring or Google Nest cameras with active accounts.
  • Network access between your server and Ring/Google APIs.

It is your responsibility to ensure your hardware meets these requirements before purchase.

6. Support

We provide email-based support at camhoundsup@gmail.com for installation assistance, bug reports, and general questions. Support is provided on a best-effort basis and does not include:

  • General Docker, Synology, or networking troubleshooting.
  • Issues with Ring or Google account configuration.
  • Custom development or feature requests.

7. Availability and Third-Party Dependencies

Camera Hound depends on third-party APIs (Ring, Google Nest) that may change, become unavailable, or modify their terms at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted functionality if a third-party service changes its API or policies.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Software or this website to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Conduct surveillance of individuals without proper consent or legal authority.
  • Process biometric data in violation of applicable privacy laws.
  • Interfere with or disrupt any third-party service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THIS WEBSITE AND THE SOFTWARE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. SEE THE EULA FOR FULL WARRANTY DISCLAIMER.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAMERA HOUND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE OR THE SOFTWARE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States.
